Is that 'Southern Charm' star's new craft beer for real?

Say what you want about the guy, but Austen Kroll can work a room. I had come to The Alley in downtown Charleston on a Saturday in early August to talk to him about the launch of his long-awaited beer brand, King’s Calling. But I’d have to get past the bachelorette parties first.

In a salmon polo and a trucker hat, Kroll had his hands full snapping selfies with one gaggle of high-heeled, sash-wrapped partiers after another. So I ordered a pint of Trop Hop, leaned against the bar and waited for an opening.

Austen Kroll has officially launched his beer - see where you can get a sip!

OK, so Austen Kroll didn't have beer taps available for Chelsea Meissner's housewarming party on Season 6 of Southern Charm. But now that his Trop Hop beer has officially hit the market — with taps, thank you very much — we can't imagine that any Charleston parties will feel complete without the IPA from here on out. And the Charm-ers certainly came out in full force when Austen hosted a launch party for the tropical-inspired brew on July 26.

In an Instagram post that offered a peek inside the bash, Austen showed photos of pals like Craig Conover and Cameran Eubanks sipping the suds he created himself. "To say this was a successful [King's Calling Brewing] launch
